On 15 March, 2010 St Giles Trust and Frontier Economics released a report evaluating the “Through the Gates” programme run by St Giles Trust to reduce the rate of re-offending. St Giles offers prison leavers a range of services including assessments whilst awaiting release and accommodation and help towards re-integration post release. Frontier Economics concludes that the programme provides outstanding value for money, with re-offending rates substantially lower than the national average.
