Nudge-u-cation: Can behavioural science boost education and social mobility?

This year's annual lecture from Pro Bono Economics featured Dr David Halpern, Chief Executive of the Behavioural Insights Team as keynote speaker, discussing the role of nudge theory in education and social mobility. He was joined on a panel by Professor Sanda McNally from the University of Surrey and Chris Brown, Principal of the Bridge Academy. The event was chaired by Lord Gus O'Donnell, Chairman of Pro Bono Economics, and the discussions sparked great interest in the room and online, through the hashtag #nudgeucation which trended on the night.

Pro Bono Economics, established in 2009 is a charity that matches professional economists, working as volunteers or on a voluntary basis, with charities and social enterprises that want to understand and improve their impact and value.
