Monday 8 January 2018, 6pm, Westminster Business School

The Society of Business Economists (SBE) is excited to announce the launch of a Professional Development programme- to learn more come along and meet us at a reception on Monday 8 January 2018, 6pm where guests will hear talks and have the chance to network during refreshments.

The demand for applying the knowledge and skills of economists to the practical challenges facing our society has never been greater. As the breadth and depth of the discipline of Economics has expanded, however, it has become increasingly difficult for professional economists to stay abreast of the latest and most cutting-edge developments of economic theory and practice.

Accordingly, the Society of Business Economists believes it can offer a valuable service to its members by providing, in addition to the regular monthly speaker meetings and the highly successful Master Class programme, an insightful and well-structured Continuous Professional Development programme.

Such an initiative is designed to benefit all members – and not just those in the early stages of their careers – by enabling them to refresh and augment their knowledge and skills as economic practitioners.

Our Continuous Professional Development will be run by Andy Ross, a highly-experienced economic practitioner who was Head of Professional Development for the Government Economic Service and is now the SBE’s Head of Professional Development.

The first course is a two-day ‘Update and Refresher for Analysis of Economic Data’ tutored by a Government Economic Service tutor and assessor, Professor Peter Urwin. For full details on this and other courses please visit http://www.sbe.co.uk/careers/development/

We would be delighted to welcome you to the official launch Reception in January. To register please email Katie Abberton on [email protected].
