The Cardinal Hume Centre, based in south Westminster, supports homeless and vulnerable people from the local community to acquire the skills and knowledge that will enable them to transform their lives. The Centre's employment support team works closely with the local Job Centre Plus and offers particular support to those who are homeless, long term unemployed, and those facing complex barriers to work.

Economists from Ofgem advised the Cardinal Hume Centre about data collection to be able to demonstrate the impact of their employment support service. The Cardinal Hume Centre is now considering the implications of the advice for them.

Andy Waites, Director of Services at the charity said:

"For the people we work with the issue is much more complex than simply recording whether or not they get a job, and Ofgem are helping us to clarify and demonstrate the wider impact of our work. We're very pleased to have this opportunity to work with Ofgem, and grateful to Pro Bono Economics for making it possible."

"We are delighted to be working with the Cardinal Hume Centre, which provides the most vulnerable people in our local community with important help and support. We look forward to continuing our relationship and providing further advice on demonstrating their impact." Martin Campbell, Ofgem

We are grateful to Martin Campbell, Merce Almuni and Thomas Farmer at Ofgem for their time and expertise in helping the Cardinal Hume Centre.
