The UK is facing a crisis in children’s wellbeing and we need to understand what we can do to reverse recent trends. Having a relationship with a trusted adult has been shown to be one possible solution – helping to protect the most at-risk children from low mental wellbeing.

Football Beyond Borders is a charity that provides such a trusted adult to work with young people throughout secondary school to help them re-engage with their education. They use sport as a way to establish a relationship and combing that with one-to-one mentoring and group work to support the child to deal with the challenges they’re facing.

Thanks to support from the IntegratED Partnership, Pro Bono Economics recently partnered with Football Beyond Borders and #BeeWell to apply exciting new ways of measuring impact to evaluate the power of a trusted adult intervention based on its impact on the wellbeing of young people.

Join us to hear from a line-up of experts on new ways of measuring charities’ impact and what these methods revealed about the impact of Football Beyond Borders’ services on children’s wellbeing.

Speakers will include:

  •         Lord Gus O’Donnell, former Cabinet Secretary and Chair of Trustees, Pro Bono Economics
  •          Jon Franklin, Chief Economist, Pro Bono Economics
  •          Jack Reynolds, Co-Founder and Chief Executive, Football Beyond Borders
  •          Nancy Hey, Executive Director, What Work’s Centre for Wellbeing

About Football Beyond Borders

Football Beyond Borders works with young people from areas of socio-economic disadvantage who are passionate about football but disengaged at school, to help them finish school with the skills and grades to make a successful transition into adulthood. Football Beyond Borders does this by providing long-term, intensive support, built around relationships and young people’s passions, in the classroom and beyond.
