On the 4th of July 2019, Pro Bono Economics submitted a response to the Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy Committee on the Automation and the Future of Work inquiry.

This response presents a brief overview of the findings from two surveys Pro Bono Economics commissioned this year: one of 1,000 doctors soliciting their views on what the Fourth Industrial Revolution might mean for the NHS, and a second which questioned the general public on their appetite to volunteer more if they had free time. This is along with some more general observations on the role volunteering might play in preparing UK society for the challenges and opportunities the labour market of the future may present.
