In response to today’s ONS release of Labour Market Statistics, Anoushka Kenley, Pro Bono Economics’ Research and Policy Director said:

“The longer people are out of work, the harder it is to get back and these figures show that 670,000 people have now been unemployed for over six months. Almost a third (29%) of those are young people. Yet the charities that offer job coaching, training and financial advice are strained to their limits after a year-long fundraising drought. To help the people hardest hit rebound, it is essential to invest in these services experiencing unprecedented demand for the ladder out of unemployment that they offer.”
