Andrew G Haldane is  currently the chief Executive at the Royal Society of the Arts and the former Chief Economist and Executive Director, Monetary Analysis and Research, at the Bank of England. He is a member of the Bank’s Monetary Policy Committee and Chair of the Government’s Industrial Strategy Council. Among other positions, he is Honorary Professor at the University of Nottingham, a Visiting Fellow at Nuffield College, Oxford and a Fellow of the Academy of Social Sciences. He has authored around 200 articles and four books. Andrew is the founder and trustee of Pro Bono Economics and Vice Chair of National Numeracy.

In September 2021, Haldane was appointed as the head of the Levelling Up Taskforce in the newly renamed Department for Levelling Up, Housing and Communities.
