Josh Martin is an economic advisor for Jonathan Haskel at the Bank of England. He worked at the Office for National Statistics (ONS) in a range of roles between 2016 and 2022, most recently as Head of Productivity statistics.

Josh's research relates to measuring capital, especially intangible assets, measuring the productivity of hard-to-measure activities, and analysis of productivity. His work on the productivity of the UK non-profit sector (with PBE Chief Economist, Jon Franklin) is published in the International Productivity Monitor, and he previously worked with PBE on a feasibility study for a civil society satellite account.

He holds a BSc in Economics, an MSc in Data Analytics for Government, and is currently studying a part-time PhD in Economic Measurement at King's College London.
