Director of Research and Policy

Jansev leads the Research and Policy team at PBE having joined in 2022 to help shape and drive PBE's programme of work following the completion of the two-year Law Family Commission on Civil Society. She was a key player in helping to secure core funding for PBE from The Mohn Westlake Foundation. This funding will support work to help generate greater insight into the state of the social sector, wellbeing and how the former supports the latter. Since joining PBE, Jansev has been a regular speaker and commentator on the state of the sector generally, as well as providing responses on behalf of PBE to regular ONS statistical releases. Her research has focused on the role of volunteering (formal, informal and skilled) and its effects, both for the individual and society more widely.

Prior to joining PBE, Jansev predominantly worked for research agencies, including YouGov, Ipsos Mori and IFF Research, where she led on projects for clients spanning the public, private and social sectors, as well as serving political and media clients. She also previously served as a local councillor for four years and worked in Parliament for two MPs, as well as working in public affairs. She has a PhD in political science.
