Economist

Karol has experience in research and the public sector. Her background includes engaging in research collaboration projects at institutions such as the Institute of Development Studies in the UK and the United Nations University in the Netherlands. Additionally, she has undertaken consultancy projects with the World Bank and the OECD and previously worked as a public servant at the Department of Planning in Colombia and the Ministry of Education.

Karol's primary research interests revolve around public policy, household dynamics and children's wellbeing, specifically focusing on development interventions. She is passionate about the mechanisms behind poverty and the role of interventions in tackling it. She holds a bachelor's and master’s degree in economics and is reading a PhD in Economics of Development.

Karol enjoys dancing and painting in her spare time and is learning how to play the piano.
